The Heritage choir is back strong this year, after COVID-19 regulations kept them from singing indoors. This year, they have a higher chance of being able to perform as they have in the past.
Many students are very excited about this and look forward to choir this year.
“I am most excited about getting to sing with other voices again and sound like a full choir,” says Anika Parus, a freshman in Women’s Ensemble.
“I am excited about choir this year because I like to sing, especially harmonic parts because they are really fun,” explains Tyler Kitchens, a junior in Men’s Ensemble.
While there is no certainty of what choir will look like this year, students seem to feel more confident that there is a higher chance that they will be able to sing in person. The classes are preparing to be flexible with whatever happens.
“We don’t know what concerts and events will look like this year, so we’ll be as normal as possible. We’ll evaluate when we get closer to those events,” says Andrew Fischer, the Heritage choir director.
No matter what happens, the choir will be ready for all the exciting upcoming events. The December concert will comprise of all the choir groups, including Women’s Ensemble, Men’s Ensemble and the May concert week will have multiple concerts and will incorporate the band and orchestra.
Some of Fischer’s favorite events in the fine arts department are the musicals. This year, the Heritage will be putting on performances of Little Shop of Horrors from November 17 to November 20.
“I’m just excited to be able to sing in a choir again,” says Greta Paradis, a freshman in Women’s Ensemble.
