Heritage welcomes Steve Wolfe, assistant principal

Steve Wolfe is Heritage High School’s new assistant principal on special assignment. With an extensive background in education that spans three decades, he brings a great deal of experience, knowledge and enthusiasm to his role.

“I actually thought I was going to be a math and physics double major and go into engineering,” Wolfe says. But life had other plans. In college, he found his love for helping others learn, leading study groups for pre-med and pre-law students. After a month-long internship in a chemistry class at a local high school, he knew what he wanted to do in life was to educate. This discovery led to a career that saw him in many levels of science, particularly AP Biology.

After years in the classroom, Wolfe transitioned into administration, looking to make a bigger impact. He was a principal in Minnesota before moving to Littleton Public Schools 18 years ago, where he first served as an assistant principal at Heritage. His career at Littleton Public Schools also included being principal at Powell Middle School. After a brief hiatus to support his family, he has returned to Heritage to fill in as assistant principal.

For Wolfe, coming back to Heritage feels full circle. “It’s really exciting to be back here again. Things have changed at Heritage, you know?” His favorite part of Heritage is the culture. “The culture at Heritage is really second to none. It’s a wonderful family feeling, folks care about each other sincerely.”

Wolfe is most excited for the chance to connect with students and staff again. “When the lightbulb goes off for a student, it’s the best feeling in the world,” he says. While his time at Heritage may be temporary, Wolfe is determined to ensure the school remains a positive and exciting place for students and staff alike.
