One of the most well-known families at Heritage is the Johnson family. With Mr. Tyler Johnson coaching our football team and teaching science classes, and Mrs. Shannon Johnson teaching social studies, two very well known teachers. They have two kids who attend Heritage, Jullianna J. and Carson R., both sophomores.
“I see my family a lot in school, in the halls or at lunch or during my off periods. But I like it because it is much easier to communicate and I enjoy putting stuff in my parents’ classrooms so I don’t have to carry everything around all day,” says Julianna.
“I like it when my parents teach classes I’m taking so I can get extra help from them to better understand the class,” says Carson.
Mr. Johnson explains the exciting parts about all being in the same school building “I think its awesome. It’s so fun to all be Heritage Eagles together and to be able to talk about the assemblies and the games. While also being able to see the kids at the assemblies having fun. But another thing is that all being at Heritage everyday makes transportation much easier.”
Mrs. Johnson shares some of the challenging aspects of being a teacher and a parent of students, “The hardest part of being a parent but also a teacher of the same school would be balancing between the roles of colleagues and also the parents of a student.” The family is very excited to welcome their two youngest kids to the Eagle Family.
