One of the many fun events that happens at Heritage is the Senior Showdown event every spring. The show includes 12 funny contestants competing against each other to win the title of Senior Showstopper. This show highlights all of the seniors’ talents while being entertaining for everyone.
The show starts with a group dance where all 12 seniors come out with a choreographed dance they perform for the audience. The seniors stole the show as a group when they performed a mashup of songs.
Then we move on to the talent show; this is where each contestant comes out to show their best skill or share a funny experience or story with the audience. From singing, dancing to painting or presentation storytimes and instrument playing. Every senior did a great job; some honorable moments had to be when Max G told a funny story about his old pet fish or when Ellie Dates danced to Justin Bieber. Another memorable act was Maya Gunshore when she made a balloon animal, then gave it to Colton, who is Heritage High School’s wish kid this year.
After the talent show, each contestant came out onto the stage to share their best-dressed outfit, as well as share their accomplishments from their high school career. Then, before they exited the stage, they each thanked someone who had an impact on their time in school.
Before learning who will bring the title of Senior Showstopper, the contestants were asked questions on the spot that they had to answer honestly and quickly. Finally, the winner was announced: Ellie D. won this year’s Senior Showdown. “She deserved to win for sure because she had great crowd engagement and got the crowd hyped,” Ellie M. ‘26 says. “Winning this means alot to me because it shows the person I have grown to become in high school” Ellie D. says. “I want to come off as a very outgoing and loving person, and I feel like this shows everyone that I am that outgoing person.”
