Heritage’s theater starts auditions for this year’s Trap

Heritage’s students flooded the theater to audition for this year’s Trap, each one with practiced monologues and filled with determination to get a role in the cast. Emily Woller ‘28, one of the auditioners, states, “During the audition, I was really nervous about my performance’s quality compared to my practices. Once I got on stage, though, muscle memory kicked in and I didn’t even realize I’d finished. By the end of it, I was really excited for callbacks…”

This year’s stage managers, Alexandra Hammond ‘26 and Adam Frisch ‘27, are both looking forward to their new promotions. Hammond says, “This is my first year as senior stage manager, but I’ve been in stage management since sophomore year”, while Frisch states, “This is my first year as the stage manager.”

Mr. Liam Kelley, our thespian club sponsor, claims, “I feel confident in our program and in the people that auditioned, and that we’re going to be able to put together one really exciting show that will—hopefully—be scary.”

Compared to last year’s plays, the thespians want to build a stronger sense of community within the play. Hammond hopes to recruit more members for other jobs, not just for acting, but working behind the scenes. Frisch wants members to feel more comfortable coming to the stage managers for help. Kelley, a firm believer in having everyone contribute and feel important, claims, “Every element of a show’s production is based on trust”.

Come see Trap this Halloween in the Heritage theatre, and watch as the cast goes through a horror story written and directed by a team that aims to entertain.
