Secrets from a Girl (Whoâs Seen it All): When I think of Lorde, I think about the song âRibsâ â which is a very popular song for its interpretation on growing up. While âRibsâ is more about the uncertainty of getting older, this song is pretty much the opposite. It is the reassurance that when you grow up, everything will work out how it is supposed to. Going into another summer, I feel like this song encapsulated a lot of the worries that are going through our minds right now about stepping up to the next things. So, overall I feel like this is a good song to keep in mind as we move forward into what is next and make this summer count.Â
Real Love Baby: When you think of a day at the beach, this is the kind of song that would be playing in the background. The vocals have a very vintage feel to them like an older song from the 60s that everyone always knows the tune of. When you listen to this song, you can almost just picture that perfect day of spending the whole day outside and smelling like sunscreen and the pool. This is one of the few songs that I feel truly makes you feel happy. While it is bittersweet, there is a perfect balance of excitement that pours out through the guitar. I just know that when Iâm thinking about a song that reminds me of summer memories, I will be thinking of this song.Â
deja vu: The first time I listened to this song, I didnât like it at all. It didnât sound catchy, and the whole idea of it was kind of creepy, but than I realized that is exactly what makes this song so good. After watching the music video, everything seemed to kind of click on what the message of what this song was. The melody is so different from anything Iâve ever heard and even the concept of the song became interesting. âdeja vuâ is about watching someone else take your place in a relationship and noticing the similarities between them and how you used to be. This is now one of my favorite songs of all time. Every time the windows are down in the car and it is time to pick a song, this one always seems to come to mind. âdeja vuâ is such a great song that has the perfect scream-able bridge for the summertime hangouts.
