Teacher Feature: Shannon Kershaw

Shannon Kershaw is the new A-D counselor at Heritage for the 2022-2023 school year.

This will be her 25th year in education. She previously worked with students in Texas, Utah and Colorado. She has done work as a 4th-grade teacher, elementary school counselor and high school counselor.

“As a classroom teacher, I felt that I was meeting more social and emotional needs than academic needs, so I decided to go back to school and become a counselor. I love feeling like I’ve made a difference in a positive way,” states Kershaw.

Kershaw is looking forward to working closely with students this year. She values the relationship she has with students and being able to watch their growth.

“Moving back to Colorado, I knew that I’d want to return to Littleton and I’d always heard such great things about the community here,” explains Kershaw.

Outside school, Kershaw is a certified yoga instructor and an avid reader. She also loves to travel and volunteers with the National Kidney Foundation.

Kershaw can be reached via email at skershaw@lps.k12.co.us or in-person via appointment on the counseling website.
