Dr. Jane Goodall came to Denver at Bellco Theatre on Wednesday, March 15. Sponsored by the Denver Museum of Nature & Science and introduced by Governor Jared Polis, Dr. Goodall spoke out about wildlife conservation. She touched on ethical and sustainable consumption, alleviating poverty and coexisting with nature. She gave the audience hope for the fight to end climate change and ended the event with the words, "Together, we can. Together, we will. Together, we must." World Down Syndrome Day (WDSD) is globally observed by the United Nations. March 21st (03/21) is a day to spread awareness for Down syndrome; a reflection of the triplication of the 21st chromosome. Did you know Down syndrome is the most common chromosome-related condition in the US? The Heritage blood drive is this Thursday, March 23rd. Sign up in front of the main office. Students must be 18, 16-17 year olds need parent approval. Come donate and save a life! This week is kindness week! Each day during advisory, students will have the chance to paint kindness tiles. This is your chance to do something long-lasting at Heritage. Make sure to keep everything positive and school appropriate. Tonight’s Unified game is CANCELED. Unified Eagles’ next game is today, Wednesday Feb. 22nd at 7 pm. It will take place in the Heritage main gym. This weekend, our Heritage Chess team participated in the State tournament at George Washington High School. Our competing players were Kellan Stodden (pictured), Trent Stodden, Jackson Spiecker, Miles Greeley, Carson Schlageter, Joseph Culig, Gabriel Thornber, and Jace Enriquez, led by team captain DJ Graham. The team’s top scorers were DJ and Kellan with 3 wins over 2 days. For all seniors, come to Life 101’s second meeting this Thursday, February 16th. Life 101 is a discussion-based seminar where seniors have the opportunity to talk about a variety of topics and is a great way to prepare for graduation and life after graduation.
