On a normal school day, many students go home for the remainder of the day after the final bell at 3:35 PM. However, for the freshman class and for upperclassmen LINK leaders, there is still much to do.
Cramfest takes place the Thursday before finals, and it is just as much of an experience as it is a helpful way to study. Music, snacks and whiteboards litter the cafeteria as freshmen get help in any subject they need help with.
“The food and the environment were really beneficial in helping me study for my English final!” Jack H. ’27 notes.
When it comes to preparation, LINK leaders are second to none. Preparation for Cramfest begins weeks before the actual day of the event, especially on the days of freshman visits to advisories.
“We were trying to be very intentional about mentioning cramfest during our December freshman advisory visits, giving them study tips in a fun way by playing games with them. We also helped them get prepared for their first finals by giving them organizational charts as well as study tips within a google classroom in order to ensure they were prepared.” Mrs. Abbott explains.
Cramfest is not only beneficial to freshmen, however. It is also helpful to the over 50 LINK leaders who volunteered their time to help freshmen prepare for finals.
“Cramfest helped me meet a lot of new freshmen, and it gave me great joy to help teach them not only about school, but other things in life as well!” Ryan R. ’24 exclaims.
Overall, Cramfest is an extremely unique experience that helps freshmen soar to new heights during finals week.
