On Wednesday, October 30th, Heritage hosted its first-ever Trick or Treat Street. The event featured many clubs and sports who volunteered to run a room. Kids from surrounding elementary schools were invited to show up in costume and walk around the school to collect candy and participate in different activities.
These various groups included student government, yearbook, Heritage sports, clubs such as Latinos in Action, Mathletes, Heritage ambassadors and many more. Groups were encouraged to decorate their door, hall and room, and to dress up with a theme.
This event was sponsored by Heritage student government with the three student co-heads of the event being Anna D. ‘26, Ella B. ‘26 and Talya N. ‘25.
Anna explains that the most popular rooms were “the ones that went all out with their decorations like the water polo minion room, or Cheer’s main entrance bouncy castle because it really drew the kids’ attention.”
Turnout for this event was a huge success, as over 250 kids showed up.
Junio, who volunteered at Trick or Treat Street for Student Government, expresses, “I think it was a huge success and it was really wholesome to see all the families and the kids at school, and there were a ton of people there.”
Not only was it successful because of the turnout, but also because of the way it brought the community together, as Ella describes this event as, “a memorable event for our younger community.”
Heritage plans to make this a tradition for every Halloween, and hopefully, more clubs and families will start to come as the event continues.
