As the leaves begin to change and school comes back in session for Heritage Students, the sport of Flag Football has hit the ground running.
On August 23rd, both Varsity and JV teams for Flag Football competed in their first two matches against Arapahoe and Littleton, which built much anticipation and excitement among Flag’s community during the first two weeks back.
Prior to the game, Hayley P. ’27, Co-Captain of the Varsity team, reflected on her feelings going in. “I do feel nervous because I know people on both the Arapahoe and Littleton teams, and I’m really determined to win,” she says.
Her fear wasn’t due to feeling unprepared, however, because she claims, “I played for Littleton, so I know how their team works and we can strategize specifically for that”. The team had a lot of energy going into the game, with Addy B. ’27 saying, “There was a lot of hype both on and off the field.”
After a thrill-inducing morning played on the Littleton Stadium Turf, Heritage lost to Arapahoe but won against Littleton. Overall, “The good vibes in this game set us up for the rest of the season, one filled with support and a strong bond,” said Addy.
