The Heritage High School orchestra performed for elementary school students on November 18, 2025. This experience is both great for the Heritage orchestra players but also the students coming from the elementary schools. The elementary students get to watch a high school performance and also just get to see what it will be like if they choose to pursue that themselves.
The high school students get to enjoy it for other reasons. Micah Magbanaua ’27 says, “I love having the elementary students come; they come every year and it’s just such a great experience for them and us. I think it’s so fun because when we start playing, I get to see their faces light up and it’s such an amazing feeling.”
Similarly, Alyna Rivera ’27 loves having the elementary students come and watch. Rivera says, “It’s fun having those kids here. They interact with us way more than the parents and other viewers at the later concert.”
Aside from the concert, Rivera and Magbanua really enjoy the orchestra. Rivera says, “I have been playing the violin for a long time, and it’s super fun, and it is great to have this option to do it at school because I don’t have much time to really play outside of school.”
Orchestra is a super fun extracurricular activity and has built a strong community, and the concert was super fun. As well as having students from the elementary school level, it is important to help build the community.
