Today at noon, Heritage students participated in a walk-out in protest of gun violence as a response to the recent shooting at Denver East High School. Dr. Jane Goodall came to Denver at Bellco Theatre on Wednesday, March 15. Sponsored by the Denver Museum of Nature & Science and introduced by Governor Jared Polis, Dr. Goodall spoke out about wildlife conservation. She touched on ethical and sustainable consumption, alleviating poverty and coexisting with nature. She gave the audience hope for the fight to end climate change and ended the event with the words, "Together, we can. Together, we will. Together, we must." Dr. Goodall's youth program, Roots and Shoots, will be linked in our bio if you'd like to get involved! Keep an eye out for blue and yellow ribbons today! World Down Syndrome Day (WDSD) is globally observed by the United Nations. March 21st (03/21) is a day to spread awareness for Down syndrome; a reflection of the triplication of the 21st chromosome. Did you know Down syndrome is the most common chromosome-related condition in the US? The Heritage blood drive is this Thursday, March 23rd. Sign up in front of the main office. Students must be 18, 16-17 year olds need parent approval. Come donate and save a life!
