Music, snacks and studious students, the Cramfest of 2024 took place in the student center.
The Cramfest is an annual event, taking place before Finals week each year. It gives a time and place for Freshmen to study and get help from Link Leaders on whatever topics they need in order to prepare for their very first round of finals.
“I was able to chip away at my essay and study guide. It wasn’t very helpful for people who didn’t have a ton of questions, but it was still fun to be social while studying,” Bailey G. ‘28 states. She was able to finish an essay for her English class while enjoying free snacks and time with her friends. But, there was much more going on behind the scenes of Cramfest.
A large amount of work goes into Cramfest. “We train our LINK Leaders to take on the role of a tutor and we advise them on how to generally support freshmen students. Like questions they can ask, preparing study strategies. We ask our Link Leaders about what subjects they would like to help students with,” says Mrs. Stephanie Bianchi, one of the teachers who has been helping LINK and the preparation of Cramfest for the past three years. LINK leaders waited, ready to help students at tables with designated topics indicated by colored signs. “The PTO gave us snacks,” Bianchi adds. Groups from across the school, from teachers, to students, to parents, work together to create this event.
“There are less freshmen here than last year.” Bianchi reflects on the crowd of freshmen and there upperclassmen as they work together to take on Semester 1 finals. While fewer freshmen attended than did in the class of ‘27, a large number still showed up to the event that LINK spent so long preparing for.
All in all, Cramfest went smoothly and the determined freshmen were able to get an advantage heading into their first ever finals.
