It is not news to many people that one student by the name of Shawn S. ‘27 has left Heritage. In fact, he has left the United States as a whole. Shawn departed Sunday, December 15 for his new home in Australia. Shawn was a very lively student, providing a voice in every class he was in. Though we are all sad, Shawn hopes for new beginnings in Australia.

In fact, Shawn believes that a shift in environment could be better for him. He states “I feel like I don’t love the Heritage environment as much as I could love a school environment. It could use some improvement, like some of the rules, as well as the feeling not bringing inspiration. I am ready for a new environment that could help me grow.”

Clearly, Shawn is at least somewhat ready for his new home. However, his friends are not ready for his egress, Dade C‘26 being one of them. Dade states “Shawn was a cool guy, I’m sad he left. He was someone you could hold a fun conversation with. Newspaper will definitely be a lot quieter too.”

With all of this information, it is clear that Shawn’s going away has struck the hearts of many, but will ultimately be a good change for him.
