April 1st is the day for pranks. I asked some students if they would do or have done pranks and what were some that they might have seen. I organized the pranks by mild and extreme pranks.
Here are some non-harmful pranks.
Charlotte J. ’27 played a prank on her dad. “When I was 5 me and mom put toothpaste in an oreo and gave it to my dad. He thought that it was funny.”
Henry H. ’27 says he will do a prank. “On my parents computer I will put a video of the screen being broken and freeze the video so it looks broken.”
Lilly S. ’27 was pranked by her teacher. “Last year one of my teachers showed us this letter that we were going to have to go to summer school. And then she was like April fools.”
Here are extreme pranks that could make people mad to the point where they don’t want to talk to you.
Myles I. ’27, who is not such a fan of pranks, said“ Some pranks that I’ve heard of were: Putting some green dye in the soap dispensers. I know people that have water dumped on people in the morning and just really awful jokes.”
Both JT B.’27 and Tynan H.’27 saw car pranks. “There was one where someone disassembled someone’s car”-Boone “I’ve seen someone else plastic wrap car” says Horrigan.
Ellie D. ’27 said she saw this prank “You have a balloon and you fill it with shaving cream and you tape it to a wall. Then you throw something to pop it over someone’s head.”
This was a bigger thing when we were all kids, but we have grown. Many students said they didn’t participate at all or they just observed. They also said that they played pranks when they were little. I hope some students get a chance to laugh today at funny pranks. Here are some ideas to perhaps use today. Please know who could handle a prank and who can’t.
