On February 9th, 2025, an unfortunate shooting occurred at the Main Event. The shooting resulted in one death, one injury, four counts of assault, and many more felonies. Along with all the felonies, a lot of property damage took place.

For those unaware of what exactly occurred that night, two armed assailants entered the Main Event in Highlands Ranch. It’s unclear what their intentions were then, but an altercation in the bathroom occurred. Neavaha Crowley-Sanders opened fire on a woman in the bathroom. The assailant then moved into the main lobby and continued to open fire. Neavaha hit a woman’s heel, as she attempted to flee the scene. After leaving the main lobby, Sanders met up with another assailant, and the couple exited the main entrance and were met by police.

Connor F. is a Junior at Heritage High School. He was working at the main event on the night of the shooting. Connor describes his initial thoughts of the shooting, “I didn’t know what was going on at first. Hearing the first shot was crazy.”

Unfortunately, as the couple exited, there was an altercation with the police that ended with Jalin Seabron being shot and dying outside of Main Event. Seabron was a legally armed man who was exiting the main event. He was attempting to get in a car and leave the scene with his girlfriend when he was fatally shot multiple times.

There is a lot of uproar around the recently released police body cam footage and the death of Seabron. Deagan C., a junior at Heritage and close friend to Connor, believes “In the moment, the cops should be accountable for the death, but when an officer is asking you to put your firearm down, it’s best just to comply.”

Neveaha, on the other hand, was arrested and taken into custody, along with 4 other people. Each had multiple charges, and most were illegally obtained and possessed a gun.

Additionally, Connor talks about his experience hiding with others. “It was terrifying, nobody knew what was going to happen. As time went on it became a lot calmer. Calm enough to play Mario Kart and Smash Brothers.”

Even though the experience was horrifying, the victims of the assault ended up being fine with only minor injuries. Employees were fine, the public was fine, and the property damage wasn’t too severe. May Jalin Seabron rest in peace.
